This morning, ” The Village Green” was host to Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. We had a jumping castle (Jumping Joeys), balloon animals (Big Top Clowns), face painting and Cleo the Clown for the kids, DJH Arts a sketch artist, wonderful entertainment from Allegro Guitar Academy of Meringandan, fabulous cakes from ‘Cakes to Remember’, and tea/coffee and slices provided by ” The Village Green”.
Thanks to many donations, including a multi draw raffle, over $1200 was raised.
Even though it was abit blowy, the morning was a great success!

On Tuesday the 12th of May, we ventured to the home of “The Toowoomba Quilters”, who were the hosts of this years annual “Quilters Picnic.” Firstly, we’d like to send a huge congratulations and thank you to all those involved in the Toowoomba Quilters for putting on such a wonderfully planned and catered day.
We starting setting up our shop stall at 8am, full of goodies for Quilters to take home. The weather couldn’t really decide what it wanted to do, starting off sunny but crisp, then changing to bleak and windy. Rain was forecast, but luckily we didn’t see any - this could’ve been a problem as our stall was outside! It was lovely to see so many new faces, with bus loads coming from Quilting groups from all over! And of course, it was even better to see familiar faces pop in for a chat.
Again, a huge Thank you to the Toowoomba Quilters for putting on an excellent day!

Here is a sample made by Felicity of “For Frocks Sake”, who teaches and consults in garmet design/tailoring, and general sewing lessons. Her classes are currently being held at our shop. This sample shirt was made using patchwork fabric from our store, using 2m (110cm wide). Felicity used a twin needleon the collar and cuffs which looks absolutely AMAZING! For more information and class details, visit Felicity’s website www.forfrockssake.com.au
